A mini track loader is a small skid steer on rubber tracks, usually under 1.1 m wide and under 1.3 tonnes, that carries a bucket or attachment on a quick-attach plate. We build six of them at our factory in Xuzhou, China: four stand-on models (BL-T360-H, BL-T460-H, BL-T750-H and BL-T1000-H) and two seated models (BL-T390-C and BL-T490-C). Across the six, body width runs from 930 to 1,090 mm (36.6 to 42.9 in), machine weight from 650 to 1,250 kg (1,433 to 2,756 lb) and rated load from 200 to 500 kg (441 to 1,102 lb).
This guide puts all six side by side and shows which one suits which job. It is written for contractors, landscapers, rental fleets and dealers comparing small track loaders before they ask for a quotation. If you only need the two smallest machines, our T360 vs T460 comparison goes into more detail; if you are still deciding between tracks and tyres, start with our tracked vs wheeled mini skid steer guide.
Key takeaways
- Our six mini track loaders cover rated loads of 200 to 500 kg. The BL-T1000-H carries the most (500 kg rated, 650 kg lifting capacity) and is still only 960 mm wide.
- The narrowest is the BL-T360-H at 930 mm; the two widest, the BL-T460-H and BL-T490-C, measure about 1,090 mm.
- For loading high-sided skips or trucks, the BL-T750-H has the highest dump height in the tracked range at 1,826 mm (71.9 in).
- The BL-T360-H and BL-T460-H are rated for 30° slopes; the other four are rated for 25°.
- The two larger stand-on models run on three-cylinder diesel engines; the other four can be ordered with petrol or diesel.
- A full 0.15 m³ bucket of dry sand weighs about 233 kg [1], more than the T360’s 200 kg rating but well inside the rating of every larger stand-on model.
What is a mini track loader?
A mini track loader is a skid steer loader scaled down for tight sites. It turns by driving the left and right tracks at different speeds, so it can spin on the spot, and its lift arms carry a bucket, forks, an auger or another tool on the front plate. A skid steer fitted with tracks instead of wheels is commonly called a compact track loader [2], so the mini version is often sold as a “mini track loader”, “small track loader” or “small tracked skid steer”. All three names describe the same kind of machine.
What makes it “mini” is its size: the machine passes through a residential garden gate, operates inside buildings and travels on a light utility trailer. Most mini track loaders are stand-on machines, where the operator stands on a rear platform; some, like our BL-T390-C and BL-T490-C, have a seat. Our mini skid steer vs compact track loader article explains where the mini class ends and the full-size class begins.
Our six mini track loaders compared
The table lists the published specifications of all six tracked models, from the lightest to the heaviest. Rated load is the working figure for everyday use. Lifting capacity is the higher maximum our sheets give for the lift arms. Plan regular work around the rated load, because the Kentucky Occupational Safety and Health Program tells operators never to exceed the manufacturer’s recommended load capacity [4].
| Model | Operator | Width | Weight | Rated load | Lifting capacity | Bucket | Engine | Slope rating | Dump height |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| BL-T360-H | Stand-on | 930 mm (36.6 in) | 650 kg (1,433 lb) | 200 kg (441 lb) | 300 kg | 0.15 m³ | 1-cyl, 7.6–9.92 kW, petrol or diesel | 30° | 1,340 mm |
| BL-T460-H | Stand-on | 1,090 mm (42.9 in) | 730 kg (1,609 lb) | 300 kg (661 lb) | 375 kg | 0.15 m³ | 2-cyl, 15–17 kW, petrol or diesel | 30° | 1,340 mm |
| BL-T390-C | Seated | 955 mm (37.6 in) | 750 kg (1,653 lb) | 250 kg (551 lb) | 300 kg | 0.10 m³ | 1-cyl, 7.6–9.92 kW, petrol or diesel | 25° | 1,404 mm |
| BL-T490-C | Seated | 1,089 mm (42.9 in) | 950 kg (2,094 lb) | 250 kg (551 lb) | 350 kg | 0.10 m³ | 2-cyl, 15–17 kW, petrol or diesel | 25° | 1,402 mm |
| BL-T750-H | Stand-on | 985 mm (38.8 in) | 1,100 kg (2,425 lb) | 410 kg (904 lb) | 525 kg | 0.15 m³ | 3-cyl diesel, 17.1–18.6 kW | 25° | 1,826 mm |
| BL-T1000-H | Stand-on | 960 mm (37.8 in) | 1,250 kg (2,756 lb) | 500 kg (1,102 lb) | 650 kg | 0.19 m³ | 3-cyl diesel, 17.1–17.8 kW | 25° | 1,522 mm |

One pattern stands out when the six machines are plotted together: width and carrying capacity are not related in the way that buyers comparing specification sheets often assume. The two longest and heaviest machines, the T750 and T1000, sit under 1 m wide, because they gain their capacity from length and weight rather than width. The T460 and T490-C are the widest machines in the range but are rated for only 300 and 250 kg. If your access is narrow but your loads are heavy, look at the T1000 before anything wider.
Which mini track loader fits through my gate?
Body width is the measurement across the tracks and frame, and it decides which openings the machine can pass. Measure the narrowest point on the route, then compare it with both the body width and the bucket width. On five of our six tracked models the standard bucket is wider than the body: the BL-T390-C body is 955 mm but its bucket is 1,050 mm, the T460 and T490-C carry 1,100 mm and 1,150 mm buckets, and the T750 and T1000 carry 1,270 mm and 1,240 mm buckets. Only the T360 (906 mm bucket) has a bucket inside its body width. For example, a T1000 with its 1,240 mm bucket removed passes a garden gate just over 1 m wide, and the quick-attach plate makes refitting the bucket on the other side a short job.
- Openings of about 1 m: the BL-T360-H (930 mm), BL-T390-C (955 mm), BL-T1000-H (960 mm) or BL-T750-H (985 mm), with the bucket removed where it is wider than the body.
- Openings of 1.1 m or more: any of the six, including the BL-T460-H and BL-T490-C.
Length matters too, in courtyards and garages where the loader has to turn. The T360 is the shortest at 1,906 mm with its bucket, while the T750 is the longest at 2,836 mm. Our mini skid steer weight and dimensions guide lists every gate, trailer and height figure for all nine of our loaders.
How much can each one carry?
The rated loads run 200, 250, 250, 300, 410 and 500 kg. To translate that into material, multiply the bucket volume by the material’s density. Using Engineering ToolBox densities of 1,555 kg/m³ for dry sand and 1,905 kg/m³ for wet sand [1], a level-full bucket weighs:
| Model | Bucket | Dry sand, full | Wet sand, full | Rated load | Full bucket of wet sand within rating? |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| BL-T360-H | 0.15 m³ | 233 kg | 286 kg | 200 kg | No: fill about two-thirds |
| BL-T390-C | 0.10 m³ | 156 kg | 191 kg | 250 kg | Yes |
| BL-T490-C | 0.10 m³ | 156 kg | 191 kg | 250 kg | Yes |
| BL-T460-H | 0.15 m³ | 233 kg | 286 kg | 300 kg | Yes |
| BL-T750-H | 0.15 m³ | 233 kg | 286 kg | 410 kg | Yes, with margin for forks or a heavier tool |
| BL-T1000-H | 0.19 m³ | 295 kg | 362 kg | 500 kg | Yes, with margin for forks or a heavier tool |
The seated models have the smallest buckets but the most headroom on bucket work: a full 0.10 m³ bucket of wet sand stays well under their 250 kg rating. The T750 and T1000 have the most spare capacity, which is what you want for pallet forks, a grapple or other tools that carry heavier loads than a bucket.
Stand-on or seated tracked loader?
Four of the six are stand-on machines. The operator steps off the rear platform in a second, sees the bucket edge clearly and fits through spaces a seat would not. That layout suits landscaping contractors, who get on and off frequently to reposition pegs, open gates or rake material, and the T360 and T460 are also the most compact machines overall.
The BL-T390-C and BL-T490-C have a seat. They suit operators who prefer to sit and longer shifts in one place, such as clearing a demolition yard or loading a dumper throughout the morning. The T390-C also has the highest working height of the four smaller machines at 1,830 mm.
Loading skips and trucks: dump height
Dump height is the clearance under the bucket edge when it tips at full height. If the loader will fill skips, dumpers or truck beds, compare it with the side height of the container you load. Our tracked range splits into three groups:
- 1,826 mm (71.9 in): the BL-T750-H, the highest in the tracked range, with a 2,230 mm working height.
- 1,522 mm (59.9 in): the BL-T1000-H.
- 1,340 to 1,404 mm (52.8 to 55.3 in): the T360, T460, T390-C and T490-C.
For loading over a tall side, the T750 is the clear choice. Our guide to loading a skip with a mini skid steer covers the technique and the clearance to leave above the rim.
Slopes, soft ground and engines
Tracks spread the machine’s weight over a considerably larger contact area than tyres, which is why buyers choose them for finished lawns, saturated soil and loose sand. The BL-T360-H and BL-T460-H are rated for 30° slopes; the other four are rated for 25°. On any slope, keep the heavy end of the machine pointing uphill and travel with the bucket as low as possible, as the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety advises for compact loaders [3]. Kentucky’s skid steer hazard alert adds: avoid travelling across slopes, and go straight up or down instead [4].
Engines follow the size of the machine:
- Single-cylinder (T360, T390-C): KOOP 7.6 kW, Rato 7.9 kW or Briggs & Stratton 9.92 kW, petrol or diesel, with a 5 L tank.
- Twin-cylinder (T460, T490-C): 15 to 17 kW from KOOP, Rato, Zongshen or Briggs & Stratton, petrol or diesel, with a 10 L tank.
- Three-cylinder diesel (T750, T1000): Yanmar 3TNV80 or Kubota D1105, plus a Laidong option on the T750, with a 20 L tank.
All six are listed as EPA Tier 4 / EU Stage V.
Which mini track loader should you buy?
- Garden access and indoor work: the BL-T360-H. It is the narrowest, shortest and lightest, and it fits 30 to a 40HQ container. Keep sand and gravel loads to about two-thirds of a bucket.
- All-round landscaping with 1.1 m access: the BL-T460-H. It has twice the engine power of the T360 and a 300 kg rating that takes a full bucket of wet sand.
- Seated work on narrow sites: the BL-T390-C, at 955 mm with a 1,830 mm working height.
- Seated work with more power for attachments: the BL-T490-C, with a twin-cylinder engine.
- Loading skips and trucks: the BL-T750-H, with a 1,826 mm dump height and a 410 kg rating.
- Heaviest loads through a 1 m opening: the BL-T1000-H tracked mini skid steer, rated for 500 kg at 960 mm wide.
For example, a rental fleet might pair the T360, for jobs nothing wider can reach, with the T1000 or T750 for heavier excavation, demolition and pallet work. Our mini skid steer for sale page covers all nine models, including the three wheeled loaders, with the buying options for each.

Our factory loads six tracked loaders into a 20GP container for the T360, T460, T750, T390-C and T490-C, and four for the T1000. In a 40HQ with loading racks, the published figures are 30 T360s, 24 T460s, 22 T750s, 22 T390-Cs, 22 T490-Cs or 10 T1000s. These are our factory’s figures with the standard bucket and no attachments; our article on how many mini skid steers fit in a container explains the loading plans.
Frequently asked questions
What is the smallest mini track loader?
In our range it is the BL-T360-H: 930 mm (36.6 in) wide, 1,906 mm long with its bucket and 650 kg (1,433 lb), rated for 200 kg (441 lb).
Which mini track loader lifts the most?
The BL-T1000-H, with a 500 kg (1,102 lb) rated load and a 650 kg (1,433 lb) lifting capacity, at 960 mm wide and 1,250 kg.
Is a mini track loader the same as a compact track loader?
It is the same type of machine, a skid steer on tracks, but in a lighter class. Our tracked loaders weigh 650 to 1,250 kg, while the skid steer coupling standards SAE J2513 and ISO 24410 were written for machines up to 4,500 kg operating mass.
Are mini track loaders petrol or diesel?
Both exist. Our T360, T460, T390-C and T490-C can be ordered with petrol or diesel engines; the T750 and T1000 are diesel only.
Do all six take the same attachments?
All six have a quick-attach plate and auxiliary hydraulics, but engine power and bucket width differ, so we confirm which attachments suit each model when we quote.
About these figures
All machine figures come from the specification sheets for the six tracked models published on this site, checked on 3 November 2026. Imperial figures are converted from the metric values and rounded. Bucket weights are bucket volume multiplied by Engineering ToolBox densities and will vary with moisture. Container counts are our factory’s loading figures. Read more about our company and factory.
