Key takeaways
- A self-loading dumper fills its own hopper or drum, so loading does not have to wait for a separate loader or excavator. BOB-LIFT builds two: the 3,000 kg FJZ30 and the BL-T200-HJ with its 200 L drum.
- The FJZ30 carries 3,000 kg (6,614 lb) in a 1.5 m³ hopper. Its front bucket lifts to 2,800 mm, and the machine has a 37 kW diesel engine, 4×4 drive and 250 mm ground clearance.
- The BL-T200-HJ is a tracked mixer dumper with a 200 L drum, a loading bucket and 45° hydraulic tipping, 880 mm (34.6 in) wide. It is sold by drum volume and has no fixed rated load.
- The FJZ30 takes about 30 working days to build, against about 10 for most of our mini dumpers. It ships whole: one per 20GP container, two per 40HQ.
What is a self-loading dumper?
A self-loading dumper carries its own means of filling: a front bucket that tips into the hopper, or a loading bucket that feeds a mixing drum. With a front bucket, you do not need a loader or an excavator to fill it. A standard site dumper only carries and tips. Something else has to put the material in.
Two BOB-LIFT models are self-loading mini dumpers. The FJZ30 is a 3-tonne wheeled dumper with a front bucket for loose material. The BL-T200-HJ is a small tracked dumper that loads, mixes and tips a batch of concrete in its 200 L drum. They solve different problems, and the rest of this guide takes each in turn.

Front-bucket dumper: FJZ30
The FJZ30 3 ton dumper with front bucket carries 3,000 kg in a 1.5 m³ hopper, and its front bucket lifts to 2,800 mm (110 in). It has a 37 kW YN25GB diesel engine, four-wheel drive, articulated steering and 250 mm (9.8 in) of ground clearance, the most of any wheeled dumper we build.

The name explains the design. FJZ means an articulated frame with a self-loading front bucket, and 30 means a rated load of 3,000 kg. In work, the bucket scoops at the stockpile, lifts and tips into the machine’s own hopper. Then the machine drives to the work and tips the hopper forward at 45°, to a dump height of 2,700 mm.

Compared with the FY30 3 ton dumper, the FJZ30 has the same engine, payload and hopper, with a bucket added. On the spec sheets, the FJZ30 is 1,720 kg heavier, has a 150 mm longer wheelbase and tips 300 mm higher. Both run on 20.5/70-16 tyres with oil brakes and 24 V electrics. Both offer a Euro V engine at extra cost, and both come with one set of original diesel, oil and air filters.
Self-loading concrete mixer dumper: BL-T200-HJ
The BL-T200-HJ tracked mini mixer dumper has a 200 L drum fed by its own loading bucket, and it tips hydraulically to 45°. On rubber tracks it is 880 mm wide, narrow enough for garden paths and side passages. The name follows the tracked-dumper rule: 200 is the drum in litres, and HJ stands for Jiao, which means mixer.

- Drum: 200 L, 510 mm long, with a 360 mm opening.
- Loading bucket: 480 mm long with a 540 mm wide opening.
- Tipping: hydraulic, to 45°, with 18 MPa hydraulic pressure.
- Size and weight: 2,250 × 880 × 1,470 mm, or 2,450 mm long with the footplate. The machine weighs 465 kg (1,025 lb) and has 110 mm of ground clearance.
- Power: single-cylinder four-stroke petrol engine (Rato or Briggs & Stratton), 4.8 kW, electric start, 3.1 L tank, EPA and EURO 5.
- Travel: 3 km/h maximum speed, 20° gradeability, joystick controls, manganese steel body.
About payload: the BL-T200-HJ is sold by drum volume, not by weight, so there is no fixed rated load. As a rough guide, a load is about 200 to 400 kg, depending on the material. Tell us what you plan to mix, and we will confirm what suits the machine.

Our dumpers page puts the BL-T200-HJ under concrete and small pours: mix a small batch in the drum and drive it to the pour. If you already run a mini skid steer loader, there is another route. A concrete mixer or mixing bucket can go on the loader instead, and our guide to mini skid steer attachments covers both. Wikipedia’s concrete mixer article explains the basic principle: a revolving drum combines cement, aggregate and water, and portable mixers let smaller jobs make concrete on site.

When self-loading saves a machine on site
Self-loading pays off when the only job of a second machine would be to fill the dumper: the FJZ30 scoops, carries 3,000 kg and tips on its own. If the loader or excavator has nothing else to do, a self-loading dumper takes its place, and one machine handles loading, carrying and tipping.
- Stockpile to work face. On building sites, sand, gravel or spoil is often delivered to one spot and has to go somewhere else. The FJZ30 can work the pile on its own, and loading does not wait for a second machine.
- Small crews. With one operator, a standard dumper means either a second machine to fill it or someone shovelling by hand. A front bucket removes that step.
- Small concrete jobs. Where a mixer truck cannot reach, or the pour is too small to order one, the BL-T200-HJ loads, mixes, carries and tips a batch in its 200 L drum along an 880 mm route.
It saves less when an excavator is already on site digging. In that case the excavator loads the dumper as part of its work, and a standard dumper such as the FY30, which is 1,720 kg lighter, may be the better fit. We do not publish time savings, because they depend on your distances, material and crew.
Limits to know before you order
The FJZ30 takes about 30 working days to build, three times the roughly 10 days for most of our mini dumpers. It also has no taken-apart container figure. Its other limits come from its size, and the BL-T200-HJ’s come from its batch size.
- FJZ30 lead time: about 30 working days. Quantity and configuration set the final date, which we confirm with your order.
- FJZ30 shipping: the FJZ30 is counted whole, one per 20GP and two per 40HQ. With a roof or cab it stands 2,700 mm tall, above a typical container door, so ask us how your order will ship.
- FJZ30 weight: at 3,920 kg, it is the heaviest wheeled dumper we build. Check trailers, ramps and soft ground with that figure.
- FJZ30 payload: the self-loading bucket does not raise the 3,000 kg rating. With dense materials such as concrete, you reach 3,000 kg before the 1.5 m³ hopper is full. Our site dumper sizes guide shows the calculation.
- BL-T200-HJ batch size: the drum holds 200 L, or 0.2 m³. Even if every batch filled the drum, a 1 m³ pour would take at least five loads.
- BL-T200-HJ travel: 3 km/h maximum and 20° gradeability. It is built for short, narrow runs, not long hauls.
- BL-T200-HJ shipping: with steel loading racks, about 10 fit in a 20GP and 24 in a 40HQ. Without racks, the figures are 7 and 12.
Whatever the machine, the UK Health and Safety Executive’s site dumper guidance applies. Drivers should be trained and authorised for the specific dumper, and loads should not block the driver’s view.
Frequently asked questions
Is a self-loading dumper the same as a swivel dumper?
No. Self-loading is about how the hopper is filled, and swivel is about which way it tips. A swivel side-tip hopper is an extra-cost option on every BOB-LIFT wheeled dumper, including the FJZ30.
Does the FJZ30 carry as much as the FY30?
Yes. Both are rated at 3,000 kg with a 1.5 m³ hopper and use the same 37 kW engine. The FJZ30 adds the front bucket, a 2,700 mm dump height and 250 mm ground clearance, and it weighs 3,920 kg against the FY30’s 2,200 kg.
How much does the BL-T200-HJ carry?
It has no fixed rated load because it is sold by drum volume: 200 L. A load is roughly 200 to 400 kg, depending on the material.
What warranty applies?
Both models carry a 12-month warranty that covers the whole machine, and you can order a single unit. Details are on our buying and support page.
Choosing a self-loading model
Choose the FJZ30 to move loose material by the tonne without a second machine. Choose the BL-T200-HJ to mix and place small batches of concrete along narrow routes. To compare them with the rest of the range, from 500 kg to 5 tonnes, see the mini dumper range. Then tell us your material, route and timeline, and our team will confirm which one fits.
